Geologists: Exploration and Production

Group Health and Safety Manager

An exciting opportunity exists for a Health and Safety standout to provide health and safety support to the MSA Group and all MSA sites. A responsible role indeed - one that will see you will implement, review and update existing health and safety policies and conduct research, prepare and deliver presentations to relevant stakeholders. Part of this role would also entail continuous reinforcement of a health and safety culture, which includes driver awareness, through conducting research and delivering presentations to relevant stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree or diploma and knowledge of Health and Safety best practices and relevant legislation - specifically in the exploration or mining industry. Add extensive experience in implementing health and safety programmes, preferably at organisational level. The ability to conduct health and safety audits would be a distinct advantage. A driver’s licence is essential.

Environmental Control Officer

Is your passion for conservation backed up by a sound knowledge of applicable environmental laws and the implementation of the National Environmental Management, National Water and OHS Acts and the MPRDA as it relates to pollution prevention and waste minimisation? Then you will be the perfect candidate to develop, support and assist in baseline environmental health and safety plans. You will get the chance to provide technical input into land development processes, industrial and mining activities and will review and evaluate EIAs and other environmental reports. Chemical analysis and other analytical assessments will also fall to you.

Apply now if you have a Bachelor’s/Honours/Master’s degree in Environmental Management, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology or Microbiology. Add adequate knowledge and experience in environmental control management, including the EIA regulations and their implementation in one or more of the following fields: Air Quality Management, Water Quality Management, Industrial Impact Management, Waste Management and the implementation of the National Waste Management Strategy. A valid Mine Environmental Control certificate will be an advantage.

Mineral Tenure Project Co-ordinator

Take this opportunity to co-ordinate and supervise the acquisition, administration and maintenance of mineral tenure for various clients over a number of diverse projects. This will entail extensive client interaction and project management within the mineral tenure field, good communication and inter-personal skills are essential.

A relevant degree or diploma and at least 3 years’ experience in the mineral tenure field and 1 year specifically in project management.Proficiency in the legal requirements of the MPRDA, and valid driver’s licence are also required.

ALS and ILS Paramedics

Are you a Paramedic looking for a new challenge? Excellent opportunities exist for both ALS and ILS Paramedics within the MSA Medical division, which operates throughout Africa. It is essential for the candidate to be registered with the HPCSA. For ALS, you will need a CCA/NDip qualification and for ILS, an ILS/AEA qualification. OHS qualifications would be advantageous for both fields.

Suitable candidates will get a chance to work in other African countries, on a rotation base of approximately 11 weeks on, 3 weeks off. Thus a valid passport is necessary. You will also be called upon to perform logistical functions and manage medical evacuations.
